Acapulco Resort Hotel
Las Brisas Acapulco
Hotel Information: Featuring a pink and white color scheme, from buildings to Jeeps to table linens and towels, Las Brisas has been widely copied since it opened in 1957 as a tranquil, adults-only, prestigious retreat. Celebrities still come occasionally, along with couples seeking romance and privacy, but now Las Brisas resort accepts children, although certain accommodation sections are still reserved for adults.
Amenity highlights: Pink-and-white Jeeps shuttle guests 24-hours a day between the hillside Las Brisas resort and its private beach club on Acapulco Bay. The no-sand beach features two expansive rock- and fieldstone-lined saltwater pools with narrow openings to the bay. There's a large, freeform freshwater pool with swim-up bar. Two restaurants offer panoramic views.
Each morning, guests receive a complimentary "Brisas Breakfast" (fresh fruit, sweet rolls, and Thermos of coffee), which is quietly slipped into a two-door "magic box" near casitas' doors, to be retrieved from inside when guests desire. Housekeepers scatter hibiscus blossoms inside casitas and on pool surfaces.
This Acapulco resort offers private and semi-private pink-and-white, one-story, flat-roof casitas (small, villa-like houses) terraced into a steep hill rising some 300 meters (1,000 ft) above the Pacific Ocean.
Casitas' locations are classified into five levels, each number representing additional height on the hillside and more spectacular views of the ocean or Acapulco Bay from terraces furnished with lounge chairs, two-chair dining sets, and umbrellas or shade tents. Each casita either has its own private plunge pool or shares a pool with one or two other casitas.
Brisas Beach Club rooms on the resort's fourth level and junior suites on the fifth level provide completely private terraces and are reserved for adults 18 and older. These rooms have upgraded amenities including two glasses of wine and hors d’oeuvres each evening.
Casitas and rooms are offered in the European Plan, which inlcudes room accommodations plus a complimentary "Brisas Breakfast".
All casitas are air-conditioned and have ceiling fans; louvered doors and windows capture breezes. The pink-and-white theme is followed in chair cushions and marble-topped tables. Rooms have 27-inch TVs and vanity areas. Marble bathrooms include stall showers (no tubs), and bathrobes are standard.
